Prof Madya Dr Tengku Amatullah Madeehah T Mohd

Dr. Tengku Amatullah Madeehah Tengku Mohd is a Public Health Physician with a special interest in ageing and mental health. She has been actively involved in research and community initiatives focusing on the well-being of older adults in Malaysia. Her work spans psychosocial support, healthy ageing, and mental health promotion for the elderly. Internationally, she has contributed to collaborative publications including "In-person Interventions to Reduce Social Isolation and Loneliness: An Evidence and Gap Map" and the "International Consensus Statement on Defining an Ageing-related Pathology, Disease or Syndrome".

Rewiring the Ageing Brain: Can Nutrition and Lifestyle Reverse Cognitive Decline?
Prof Dr Suzana Sahar

Prof. Dr. Suzana Shahar is a Professor of Nutrition and Dietetics at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), currently serving as Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Director of the Healthy Aging and Wellness Research Centre. Her research focuses on the epidemiology of ageing, nutrition and neuroscience, and cancer. She recently led a nationwide project on a neuroprotective model for healthy longevity and currently heads the LRGS Ageless clinical trial to reverse cognitive frailty in Malaysian older adults under the World Wide FINGERS initiative. Prof. Suzana also leads initiatives on salt reduction strategies in Malaysia’s food environment and holds two patents related to ageing and nutrition. She is actively involved in national and global task forces including WHO’s dementia risk reduction guideline panel and the International Research Network on Dementia Prevention.

Healthy Ageing for All: Transforming Primary Care Delivery for Malaysia's Older Adults
Dato' Dr Hjh Norsiah Binti Hj Ali
Pengarah Bahagian Pembangunan Kesihatan Keluarga, Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia
Dr. Norsiah binti Ali is a senior Family Medicine Specialist and Addiction Medicine expert with over 30 years of experience in public health and primary care. Currently serving as the Director of the Family Health Development Division (Bahagian Pembangunan Kesihatan Keluarga), Ministry of Health Malaysia, she has led national efforts in addiction treatment, HIV/AIDS care, and family health services. Dr. Norsiah played a key role in pioneering harm reduction programs such as Methadone Maintenance Therapy and Needle Syringe Exchange Services in Malaysia. A prolific researcher and author of over 70 publications, she has also contributed to national guidelines and health education materials. She previously served as President of the Academy of Family Physicians Malaysia and continues to mentor clinicians and influence policy in both family and addiction medicine.

Dato’ Amir Firdaus Abdullah is a seasoned healthcare strategist and Group CEO of Aurelius Healthcare, renowned for driving innovation and operational excellence in the private healthcare sector across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. With a proven track record in hospital turnaround, expansion, and investment, he previously led institutions under the Gleneagles and Pantai Group, DaVita Kidney Care, and Burjeel Hospitals. Notable achievements include doubling revenues at Burjeel and playing a key role in its 2019 London Stock Exchange listing. At Aurelius, he has spearheaded the launch and acquisition of multiple hospitals in Malaysia and Indochina, with a vision to expand the group’s regional footprint to 5–8 hospitals in the coming years. His leadership continues to shape the future of integrated, high-quality healthcare delivery in the region.

Bridging Gap in Dementia Care: From Acute Management to Community Support
Assoc. Prof. Dr Hakimah Binti Mohammad Sallehuddin

Dr. Hakimah Mohammad Sallehuddin is a Senior Lecturer and Head of the Geriatric Medicine Unit at Universiti Putra Malaysia, and a PhD candidate at the Malaysian Research Institute on Ageing (MyAgeing). With fellowships in Geriatric and Internal Medicine and an MRCP (UK), her work focuses on ageing, bone health, geriatric education, and stroke rehabilitation. She has authored numerous publications, including Development of a Malaysian Undergraduate Geriatric Medicine Curriculum (Aging Medicine and Healthcare, 2020), and has contributed to national guidelines and book chapters. Actively involved in national and international collaborations, she also serves on multiple expert panels and committees dedicated to healthy ageing.

Unravelling Geriatric Syndrome and Multidisciplinary Approach
Dr Aimy Binti Abdullah

Dr. Aimy Abdullah is a Clinical Lecturer and Consultant in Geriatrics and Internal Medicine at Hospital Al-Sultan Abdullah, UiTM. She earned her MB BCh BaO and Bachelor of Arts from Trinity College Dublin, and holds an MRCP(UK) and subspecialty training in Geriatrics. With clinical experience across Malaysia and Ireland, her work focuses on geriatric care, ageing-related conditions, and medical education. She has authored key publications including case reports on Wernicke’s encephalopathy, retinal neurotoxicity, and COVID-19 in older adults, as well as contributing to Dementia: A Caregiver’s Guide by the Malaysian Society of Geriatric Medicine. Her research has also received support from national grants.

Bringing Healthcare to the Home for Older Patients
Assoc. Prof. M Dr. Tan Chai Eng

Assoc Prof Dr Tan Chai Eng is a family medicine consultant and has been a lecturer with the Department of Family Medicine, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia since 2011. She holds a PhD in Health Education and Communication from UPM in 2024, besides her clinical specialty in Family Medicine. Assoc Prof Dr Tan has a personal interest in the area of home care and primary palliative care. She has been working with the Home Care Unit of Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz, the teaching hospital of the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, since 2013. She conducts multidisciplinary team meetings with the Home Care Unit which provides care for patients with reduced mobility and diverse health conditions. She also has experience working with community palliative care providers. Her clinical experience in the community underscores the importance of good transition care for patients with complex health needs, as well as patient and caregiver education for self care at home.

Sr. Dr. Hafizah Binti Ismail

Sr. Dr Hafiszah Ismail is a senior academic at the Faculty of Built Environment, UiTM Shah Alam, with a PhD in Built Environment focusing on generational differences in Malaysian housing preferences. Her research centers on ageing-in-place, intergenerational living, and elderly-friendly housing design. Key publications include Ageing in Place among Urban Elderly in Malaysia: A Study on Residential Environment Preferences and Universal Design for Elderly Housing: Towards Inclusive Neighbourhoods. She has led industry- and nationally-funded projects and actively contributes to national age-friendly development efforts, including as a committee member of the Petaling Jaya Elderly Communities Action Plan 2030.

Prof Emeritus Dato’ Dr Syed Mohamed Al-Junid Bin Syed Junid

Professor Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Syed Mohamed Aljunid is a renowned Public Health Medicine Consultant and Professor of Health Economics at UKM and IMU. With a PhD from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and over 30 years of experience, he has led key initiatives in health financing, casemix systems, and policy, including advisory roles for WHO, World Bank, and MOH Malaysia. Formerly the Founding Head of UKM's Casemix Centre and Chair at Kuwait University, he has published over 300 works and supervised nearly 250 postgraduates. He is among Stanford’s Top 2% most cited scientists and recently authored How Much is the Cost of Coding Errors?

Dr Raudah Yunus

Dr. Raudah Mohd Yunus is a public health researcher and epidemiologist with a PhD in Public Health from the University of Malaya. Dr. Raudah Yunus is a researcher, writer and social activist currently pursuing a postdoctoral fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin (USA) and serving as guest editor for the BMC Public Health special issue, 'Abuse of Older People.' Her work focuses on ageing, family violence, elder abuse and neglect, refugee health, and human trafficking. Notably, she authored Researching Institutional Elder Abuse in Malaysia: Challenges and Recommendations, and the systematic review Consequences of Elder Abuse and Neglect. Dr. Yunus also actively teaches public health, supervises students, co-founded READ Malaysia, and volunteers with UNHCR—championing dignity and protection for older adults.

Assoc. Prof. Dr Asrenee Ab Razak

Dr. Asrenee Ab Razak is a Consultant Psychiatrist Consultant Psychiatrist with specialization in psychogeriatrics and social psychiatry at Universiti Sains Malaysia, with over 2,200 citations in the fields of social psychiatry, aged psychiatry, and women’s mental health. Her research bridges clinical care, advocacy, and policy, with a focus on ageing and mental health, social psychiatry, and mental health literacy. Passionate about ageing, her work explores mental health challenges faced by older adults, and she is actively involved in mentoring students and developing age-sensitive public health interventions in Malaysia.

Associate Professor Dr. Noornajihan Jaafar is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Quranic and Sunnah Studies and Senior Fellow at the Ibn Ummi Maktum Research Centre, USIM. With a PhD in Islamic Education, her work focuses on inclusive Quranic education for persons with visual impairments, notably contributing to the Malaysia Braille Quran. She also leads research and module development on spiritual well-being among the elderly and actively teaches Quran and Hadith to senior communities, bridging academic insight with community engagement.

Dr Mohamad Faisal Bin Asha’ari

Dr. Muhamad Faisal is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), where he has served since 2005. His academic focus lies in dakwah, Islamic communication, media, and Islamic thought, with extensive contributions through teaching, research, and community engagement. In recent years, his scholarship has expanded to explore spiritual well-being and ageing, including co-authoring publications on the role of dakwah in enhancing the emotional and spiritual resilience of older adults. His work increasingly addresses the intersection of Islamic values, ageing populations, and the use of media for inclusive, age-friendly religious engagement.

Dr Mohd Radzniwan bin A.Rashid is an Associate Professor and lecturer of family medicine in Faculty of Medicine and Health, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia. He is the current Deputy Dean of Student Affairs. His special interest is in the area of non-communicable disease as well as community and men’s health. He has held several important position such as having been a member of the Board Of Directors of Tijarah Holding Sdn Bhd, YDP PIBG in a trust school in Kuala Lumpur. He had written several articles in medical journal locally and internationally and published several books related to his area.

Nutritional Problems of the Elderly: Preventive Measures

Dr Divya Vanoh is the Chair of the Dietetics Programme at Universiti Sains Malaysia. She holds a PhD in Geriatric Nutrition and has made significant contributions to the field of ageing research. Dr Divya developed the TUA-WELLNESS screening tool to assess the risk of cognitive impairment among older adults, widely recognised in community health settings. She also serves as a member of the Technical Working Group for the Malaysian Dietary Guidelines for Older Persons, helping to shape national nutrition policies. Her current research focuses on sarcopenia and frailty, aiming to enhance healthy ageing strategies through evidence-based interventions.

Dr Mohamad Faiz Bin Mohamed Jamli

Dr. Mohamad Faiz bin Mohamed Jamli is a Senior Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist and Gynae-Oncologist at Hospital Tuanku Jaafar, Seremban. With over 25 years of service in the Ministry of Health, he is currently the Head of Obstetrics & Gynaecology Services and Head of Gynae-Oncology Subspecialty for Negeri Sembilan. He holds a Master’s in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from USM, a Gynae-Endoscopy Diploma from Kiel University, Germany, and completed his subspecialty fellowship in Gynae-Oncology. Actively involved in clinical leadership, training, and academic contributions, Dr. Faiz has presented at numerous national and international conferences and was the Organizing Chair of the 3rd National Obstetrics & Gynaecology Congress 2025. He also plays advisory roles in healthcare outreach and community women’s health initiatives.

Associate Professor Dr Razrim Rahim is a Medical Lecturer and General Surgeon at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FPSK) USIM. He is also currently the Dean of FPSK. He qualified as a general surgeon in 2010 and has worked in KKM and private hospitals since. His areas of research are in emergency and trauma surgery. He is currently the National Delegate (Malaysia) for the World Society of Emergency Surgery, based in Italy, and a life member of the Trauma Society of Malaysia. He has published 3 books and has written numerous book chapters and articles in general surgery.

Dr Sakinah Binti Mohd Razali

Dr. Sakinah Mohd Razali is an Orthopaedic and Trauma specialist who is also a medical lecturer at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia. With over 15 years of hands-on experience, starting from clinical roles in emergency medicine to specialization in orthopaedic surgery at multiple hospitals across Malaysia, Dr. Sakinah is passionate about orthopaedic trauma, research, and teaching. She has shared her work at both local and international conferences and has published several papers in respected journals. Outside the operating theatre and classroom, she is also active in community and youth development programs, striving to inspire and support future healthcare leaders.
